‘After 17 ½ years’ service at GPSM, General Manager, Wendy O’Neill had decided to take up “semi- retirement”, she will finish her full-time duties with GPSM on Friday 23rd August, 2019.
The good news is that Wendy will return on a part-time basis after a short break, working 2 days per week, so we will still have her in the “GPSM family” in the future.
Naturally Wendy will be sadly missed by all, she has enjoyed a long career in the freight forwarding business, completing some 45 years in a variety of positions and companies, first starting out as a document clerk in a trading company in Sydney before moving to department head. From there she moved on to Votainer in Sydney and spent a number of years there before joining another Sydney based forwarder for another lengthy employment.
In 1988 she joined Australia’s largest (at that time) NVOCC, Australian Freight Services, as Import Manager and worked there for some 12 years, before joining the current GPSM management team at another forwarder for a short time. in 2002, Wendy joined GPSM and took over the role of General Manager from that time.
Wendy has always had an impeccable work ethic and contributed greatly to GPSM over the past years, her expertise has allowed for many new employees to be indoctrinated into GPSM under the same work ethic and customer service values that were required for GPSM to be as successful as it has been.
We thank Wendy for her great contribution to GPSM and wish her well for the future, many of her management duties will be shared by other management team members while her import supervisory role will be taken over by Annie Alexiou, many of the agents would have been dealing with Annie over the past 4 years’.
